How can you get your student association recognised?

Opgelet: dit artikel lijkt al van een tijdje geleden te zijn. Dit is mogelijk niet de meest recente informatie over dit onderwerp.

There are a lot of student associations in Leuven. We encourage you to join one, to have a real Leuven student experience. You can find more info on the student associations at LOKO International. If you wouldn’t find what you are looking for and you would like to form an association yourself, e.g. with a couple of like-minded people, you can get a recognition from LOKO. Being recognised has the main advantage that you can receive subsidies for your activities.

Each year again, LOKO recognises several student associations. If your association tries to contribute to the integration of international and Flemish students, don’t hesitate to apply. Hereby LOKO tries to inspire several of these organisations to contribute to the fruitful student life this city has to offer. At the LOKO International office, you can find all the documents needed to apply for recognition. Or you can print them out yourself by clicking here.

One of the requirements is that you already organised an event in the previous academic year. If you start a new association, make sure you keep some posters or flyers of your activities to add to your letter of motivation and the other needed documents. Not sure if there is already an association of people from your country, or an association working on a specific topic? One address: international@loko.be or come to our office to talk about it. We will provide you with the necessary information and with contact details of the associations that interest you.
