Sport aan de faculteit wetenschappen

Opgelet: dit artikel lijkt al van een tijdje geleden te zijn. Dit is mogelijk niet de meest recente informatie over dit onderwerp.

Biology: Bios

Bios participates in the 24 hours run and we also try to get as much teams as possible in the IFB Competitions. Last year we only had a team for the indoor football competition, but we aim for more teams.
If you would like to join a team, be sure to keep an eye on our facebook group “Bios Leuven” and our website Here we will look and ask for which sports there is an interest the coming academic year. You can already be sure about an indoor football team.

The first sports event of the year is an Earth Ball match, where you can learn to love this awesome sport, this will go on the first week of the academic year. You will be able to join more matches throughout the academic year, once you got the hang of it. Earth Ball looks a bit like rugby.

In May, we will go to the Scienticup. After a cozy BBQ, we will have a mini-competition that will be played against the other members of Scientica (Chemika, Geos, Merkator and Wina).

If you have questions or if you want to compete, you can contact the sport preases via: benthubrecht@hotmail.com. If you have any suggestions for a sport activity, feel free to let him know. We will check the possibilities and search for others who are interested so we can organize another fun sport event.

Chemistry: Chemika

Chemika runs at the 24 Hours Run together with Atmosphere. Besides that, we also play the IFB Competition for volleyball, indoor and outdoor football.

More sport events on the calendar:
- 20 November: Swimming
- 3 to 9 February: Ski Trip
- 25 March: jenever dropping (Jenever is a Belgian liquor)

More info can be acquired via: sport@chemika.be

Geology: Geos

Geos participates in the 24 hours run. We also organize various sports activities like professors volleyball, earth ball, the Geo-Cup, …
You can contact our sports responsible Rik Vangilbergen and Cas Neyens via vangilbergen_rik_1992@hotmail.com and famneyens@msn.com

Geography and Tourism: Merkator

In what IFB Competitions we participate?
For the gents among us, we will certainly join the football and basketball competition. We hopefully join other competitions too, but that will depend on you! Last year we participated in football (indoor and outdoor) and basketball for men and volleyball for the ladies. International students who want to compete can contact our sportpreases.

But it doesn’t stop here: we also organize the Great Geographers Football tournament (a tournament for everyone studying and working for Geography and Tourism), a football match against Geografica (geography students from Gent) in Gent and Leuven, Earthball (similar to rugby), jeneversports (a night where this typical Belgian liquor and sports go hand in hand) and much more as e.g. beachvolly, wall climbing, swimming, Highland Games, …

If you want to follow our activities you can check our website, facebook. You can always e-mail our sport preases when you have questions: stephane.coelis@student.kuleuven.be.
Merkator would love to welcome international students in our teams and on our sport activities!

Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science: Wina

Wina likes to sport. We participate in the IFB (Interfacultary cup) competitions and 24 hours run. Next to that Wina organizes the pre-24h-rounds, the InterYearsCompetition, May Rounds, Ice Skating, Sportsbar, Wall Climbing and Wina vs Atmosphere (every month an unkown sport ).
If you want to get more information on these sports events, you can contact us through: sport@wina.be.
